Huawei Unveils World's First Tri-Foldable Phone to Topple Apple
Huawei Technologies launched the world's first tri-foldable phone, the Mate XT, in Shenzhen. This innovative device aims to solidify Huawei's market dominance, especially against Apple's latest iPhone 16. With 3.6 million pre-orders and groundbreaking design, Huawei continues to defy U.S. sanctions and lead the foldable smartphone market.
In a bid to strengthen its foothold in the global smartphone market, China's Huawei Technologies on Tuesday unveiled the world's first tri-foldable phone, the Mate XT. The launch event in Shenzhen showcased the tech giant's latest innovation, which features a 10.2-inch display and folds three ways like an accordion screen door.
Amassing over 3.6 million pre-orders without requiring a deposit, the Mate XT underscores Huawei's resilience amid U.S. sanctions. 'Today we bring you a product that everyone can think of but could not make. Our team has been working hard for five years and has never given up,' stated Richard Yu, Huawei's executive director.
This launch comes just hours after Apple presented its AI-boosted iPhone 16, setting the stage for a fierce market battle. Analysts, however, believe the Mate XT's high price tag and limited production might position it more as a symbol of technological prowess rather than a mass-market product. Despite this, Huawei ranks as the top seller in the foldable smartphone market, surpassing rivals like Samsung.
