Honda Partners with IITs for Cutting-Edge AI Research in Driver Assistance

Japanese auto giant Honda announced on Wednesday the initiation of a collaborative project on AI technologies with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, targeting the development of advanced driver assistance and automated driving systems for various global markets, including India.
According to the company, this joint venture will push forward Honda's Cooperative Intelligence (CI) initiative—an innovative AI concept designed to foster harmonious interactions between machines and humans.
Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) is set to formalize the collaboration by signing a research contract with both IITs. The partnership will focus on cutting-edge research themes such as environmental recognition and cooperative behavior to enhance CI technologies, aiming to reduce traffic collisions and pave the way for automated driving solutions across the world.
