Massive Cyberattack Strikes Social Media Giant X
Social media platform X, owned by Elon Musk, experienced severe outages for nearly 12,000 users after a massive cyberattack. The attack, believed to involve a coordinated group or possibly a nation, overwhelmed the platform with rogue traffic, causing significant service disruptions.

Social media platform X encountered widespread service disruptions on Monday, affecting around 12,000 users, following a substantial cyberattack. Owner Elon Musk attributed the outages to a well-coordinated assault that may involve a large group or even a country.
According to a source within the internet infrastructure sector, X was targeted by several denial-of-service waves starting at 9:45 UTC. These attacks, which flood websites with rogue traffic, can lead to significant service interruptions despite not being highly sophisticated.
Downdetector reports confirmed that by 1:46 pm ET, over 11,745 users in the U.S. reported restrictions accessing the platform. Reports of outages peaked at 40,000 earlier, underlining the scale of the attack.
