India Post is set to transform its services by integrating with the Open Network for Digital Commerce and the Government e-Marketplace. This initiative is poised to enhance service accessibility and allow the postal department to better compete with third-party logistics companies.
An official statement disclosed that the Minister of State for Communications, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, reviewed the developments at a meeting focused on the Department of Posts. The integration will bring cutting-edge functionalities such as wallet-based prepaid bookings and centralized order tracking.
By August 2025, approximately 165,000 post offices will transition to this advanced digital platform. Officials emphasize that the updates will introduce real-time tracking, customized bulk customer services, and flexible delivery options, aiming to build a robust logistics network.
