India has climbed to third place in Stanford University's 2025 Global AI Vibrancy tool, surpassing the United Kingdom and Asian nations like South Korea, Singapore, and Japan. The country's improvement, reported in November, highlights advancements in AI driven by increased investment and strategic initiatives.

India has made remarkable strides in the realm of artificial intelligence, securing the third spot in Stanford University's 2025 Global AI Vibrancy tool rankings. This progression, outlined in a November report, marks a significant upgrade for India, which previously occupied the seventh position. The leap puts India ahead of both the United Kingdom and major Asian economies, including South Korea, Singapore, and Japan.

According to the 2024 Global Vibrancy Index, India now boasts an impressive score of 21.59, following only the United States and China in AI advancements. This noteworthy achievement is driven by substantial improvements across key sectors such as research and development, talent, and infrastructure, despite massive investments by other nations.

India's progress is partly attributed to its commitment to AI-related education programs and enhancing its AI systems by ensuring adherence to ethical standards. However, the report also noted a decline in India's policy and governance score, highlighting areas for future growth and development within the global AI landscape.
