RenewCred: Pioneering India's First Digital Carbon Credit Platform

Bengaluru-based startup RenewCred has raised a significant ₹4.15 crore in seed funding, marking a substantial stride in its mission to develop India's inaugural digital carbon credit standard and registry. The funding round, which comprised both equity and grants, was spearheaded by the Campus Angels Network, with contributions from a diverse group of investors.

The founding team, led by Abhimanyu Rathi, alongside key figures like Yogendra Panchal, Shilpi Saboo, and Kaushik Gupta, is working to address critical gaps in the carbon market infrastructure. RenewCred's platform, Net Zero, focuses on non-nature-based methodologies, integrating live data streams and scientific models to reduce verification timelines and costs while improving trust and auditability.

With aspirations of removing 2.0 gigatons of greenhouse gases over the next 14 years, RenewCred plans to issue its first carbon credits this quarter. The company continues to expand its library of methodologies and grow its science network, positioning itself as a credible and technology-driven player in the evolving global carbon marketplace.
