Uno Minda's Green Leap: New Electric Powertrain Facility in Maharashtra
Auto components maker Uno Minda plans a Rs 550 crore investment in a new greenfield manufacturing facility for electric four-wheeler powertrains in Maharashtra. The plant, set for FY28 completion, will produce advanced systems such as electric drive units and dedicated hybrid transmissions for passenger vehicles.
In a significant move towards green automotive solutions, auto components maker Uno Minda announced a Rs 550 crore investment to establish a new manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
The plant, expected to be operational by FY28, will focus on high-voltage electric powertrain products for four-wheel passenger vehicles. This includes manufacturing sophisticated systems like electric drive units and dedicated hybrid transmissions.
With orders already secured from an anchor customer, Uno Minda's strategic expansion underscores its commitment to advancing localization of high-voltage powertrain technologies in India. The investment will be funded through a combination of debt and equity, highlighting the company's growth ambitions.
