Senegal Govt. ties up with Internet Society to make IoT security stronger

Senegal’s digital economy minister Abdoulaye Bibi Baldé has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Internet Society (ISOC) based in VIrginia. ISOC in association with Senegal government will develop an ‘IoT Security Framework’ for the country using the multi-stakeholder collaborative governance process.
The collaboration is said to be serving as a model to other African countries. It will reportedly propose recommendations for strengthening privacy protections and security linked to IoT devices.
Abdoulaye Bibi Baldé, Senegal’s Minister of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, and Andrew Sullivan, Internet Society’s Chief Executive Officer jointly singed the MoU.
