Air India Suspends Tel Aviv Flights Amid Middle East Tensions
Air India announced the suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv until August 8 due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. The Tata Group-owned airline provides a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges for affected passengers. This decision follows ongoing conflicts involving Israel and various groups, including Hamas.
Air India has suspended its flights to Tel Aviv until August 8 in response to escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The Tata Group-owned airline, which operates four weekly flights from the national capital to the Israeli city, announced the decision on Friday.
"In view of the ongoing situation in parts of the Middle East, we have suspended the scheduled operation of our flights to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect up to and including 08 August 2024. We are continuously monitoring the situation," the airline said in a post on X.
The carrier is extending support to passengers with confirmed bookings to and from Tel Aviv with a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges.
Tensions remain high in the Middle East, with conflicts involving Israel and groups like Hamas. Air India had also suspended Tel Aviv flights earlier this year, resuming them on March 3 after a five-month hiatus. Flights were previously halted on October 7, 2023, following an attack by Hamas on the Israeli city.
