Government to Launch Trade Connect E-Platform for Exporters

The government is developing a trade connect e-platform aimed at linking exporters, MSMEs, and entrepreneurs to stakeholders including Indian missions abroad and export promotion councils. The platform will share information on trade events, benefits from free trade agreements, and related data. Major districts showing strong export growth include Jamnagar and Mumbai.

The government announced on Tuesday the development of a new trade connect e-platform. This initiative will link exporters, MSMEs, and entrepreneurs with various stakeholders such as Indian missions abroad, export promotion councils, and partner government agencies.

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada, addressing the Lok Sabha, disclosed that the platform aims to disseminate information on global trade events, advantages of India's free trade agreements, and other pertinent trade-related data.

Prasada also highlighted significant export growth in districts like Jamnagar, Kanchipuram, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, and Kachchh. Jamnagar leads with USD 10 billion in exports for April-May this fiscal year.

In response to a separate question, the minister mentioned that a proposal offering an 80% concession for Women Entrepreneurs and a 50% concession for MSMEs on licensing fees under the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) is currently under active consideration by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
