India's Logistics Data Bank Achieves Milestone in Container Tracking

The Logistics Data Bank System has reached a major milestone, successfully tracking more than 75 million export-import containers, as announced by the commerce and industry ministry. This initiative by NICDC Logistics Data Services (NLDS) provides enhanced visibility for containers across India.

Incorporated in December 2015, NLDS leverages ICT to boost efficiency in the logistics sector. The system tracks container movements between ports, inland depots, and other key logistics points. Its impact is reflected in India's improved ranking on the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index.

The service's widespread acceptance is evidenced by over 45 lakh unique searches monthly. Accessed via a single-window platform, LDB's tracking capabilities offer significant value to stakeholders across the logistics industry.
