Amazon Transportation Services has teamed up with India Post in a strategic alliance aimed at supercharging delivery capabilities across the nation. On Friday, both entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signaling their shared commitment to efficiency and capacity sharing within their logistics networks.
Vandita Kaul, Secretary (Posts), highlighted the unique potential of India Post with its vast network of 1,65,000 offices to democratize e-commerce across the country. The partnership with Amazon, she asserts, is a pivotal move toward bridging the digital divide and enhancing e-commerce accessibility for all citizens.
This collaboration, which has deepened since its inception in 2013, now focuses on creating an integrated cross-border logistics solution. The goal is to broaden e-commerce export opportunities for thousands of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) throughout India, effectively tripling the volume of Amazon parcels through India Post in the past 18 months.
