Air India, the private carrier, has introduced Wi-Fi internet connectivity services on domestic and international flights. The service is now available on its widebody Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-9 fleet, as well as on select Airbus A321neo aircraft.
This launch marks Air India as the first airline to offer such amenities on flights within the country. Passengers will be able to connect multiple devices, such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones equipped with iOS or Android systems, when the aircraft reaches an altitude above 10,000 feet.
The roll-out of Wi-Fi services follows a successful pilot program on international routes, including flights to New York, London, Paris, and Singapore. For a limited time, the service will be provided free of charge to passengers, and Air India plans to expand this service to other aircraft in its fleet progressively.
