In a landmark move to bolster the natural gas infrastructure in Southern India, Crown LNG, a subsidiary of Crown LNG Holdings Limited, has partnered with the Indian Gas Exchange Limited (IGX) to spearhead a transformative initiative. The agreement, formally signed by Swapan Kataria of Crown LNG and Rajesh Kumar Mediratta of IGX during India Energy Week 2025, is set to enhance the natural gas ecosystem across the region.
This strategic collaboration is designed to foster a more competitive, transparent, and efficient gas marketplace. The partnership aims to make natural gas more accessible, particularly to industries and micro-enterprises, while promoting LNG distribution in rural and industrial areas. The collaboration is pivotal to advancing India's clean energy transition and bolstering the nation's gas-based economy.
Crown LNG's upcoming regasification terminal at Kakinada Deepwater Port is expected to play a crucial role in meeting the increasing demand for industrial and commercial gas in the region. Capitolising on IGX's trading platform and expansive network, the initiative seeks to enhance demand-side participation and pave the way for competitive trade, ensuring broader access to clean energy solutions.
