The GMR Group, managing the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, has announced projections of passenger traffic reaching 50 million annually by 2031, up from 29 million expected in 2025.

CEO Pradeep Panicker disclosed an investment of Rs 370 crore in cargo terminal expansion, aiming for a capacity of 4.0 lakh tons yearly.

Despite operating since 2008, the airport has swiftly increased its passenger and cargo handling capacities, positioning itself as one of India's fastest-growing metro airports, and expects a 10% revenue growth, largely buoyed by the rise in passenger numbers.
