Advantage Assam 2.0: A Catalyst for India's Economic Surge

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, emphasized Assam's pivotal role in economic growth, highlighting its advancements in semiconductor manufacturing and infrastructure. The Prime Minister noted India's commitment to sustainability and infrastructure development, positioning Assam as a major investment hub with increased federal and state collaboration.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the event as a campaign connecting Assam's potential to global stakeholders. Modi emphasized Eastern India's historical significance in prosperity, asserting the region's readiness to reclaim its role in India's development.

The Prime Minister praised Assam's emergence as a semiconductor manufacturing hub, citing Tata Semiconductor's new assembly and tech facility in Jagiroad as a catalyst for technological growth in the Northeast. He highlighted India’s Renewable Energy Mission, noting the global community's recognition of it as a model for sustainable development.

Modi underscored government's infrastructural investments, marking Institutional Reforms, Industry, Infrastructure, and Innovation as core components of national progress. Assam's railway budget has notably increased, quadrupling to Rs 10,000 crore, bolstering connectivity and development. Modi reaffirmed Assam's rise as a pivotal investment destination, enhancing its role in India's economic momentum.
