The Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, held on Tuesday in Guwahati, has emerged as a potential game-changer for the state's economic future. Investment commitments at the summit have exceeded initial expectations, with Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth over Rs 1.2 lakh crore already approved by the state cabinet.
Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, highlighted the summit's significance, projecting total investments to surpass Rs 1.5 lakh crore. He noted the cultural celebrations at the event, mentioning over 10,000 artists performing 'jhumoir,' a traditional Assamese folk dance, in the presence of the Prime Minister.
The summit has received enthusiastic endorsements from state leaders. Assam Assembly Deputy Speaker Numal Momin praised the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for initiating Advantage Assam 2.0, envisioning it as a catalyst for attracting investors and fostering economic growth.
