Massive Drone Assault Targets Moscow amid Ongoing Conflict
Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack on Moscow, resulting in at least one death and major disruption to transport systems. The assault, which destroyed 69 drones, damaged residential areas and rail infrastructure. The strike comes as peace talks between the U.S. and Ukraine unfold.

In an unprecedented escalation, Ukraine targeted Moscow in an extensive drone assault early Wednesday, marking the largest attack of its kind on the Russian capital since the war began. At least one person was killed, authorities confirmed, as the assault caused fires and significant transportation disruptions, grounding flights and halting train services in the region.
The strike began around 4 a.m., with Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov reporting on a massive drone offensive via the Telegram messaging app. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that at least 69 drones, approaching the city in successive waves, were neutralized. The attack resulted in severe damage, including the destruction of seven apartments and the evacuation of residents in the Ramenskoye district.
The incident occurred as U.S. and Ukrainian officials were scheduled to engage in peace talks in Saudi Arabia, amidst ongoing efforts to negotiate an end to the war that commenced with Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, other nearby regions, including Ryazan and Belgorod, reported similar drone incursions, highlighting the conflict's continued intensity and widespread reach.
