Air India Tragedy Sparks Aviation Safety Inquiry

The upper house of India's parliament has requested participation from airport operators, air traffic controllers, and airlines such as Air India and IndiGo. This comprehensive review, prompted by the June 12 Air India disaster, aims to improve passenger safety standards after 260 people perished in the crash.

R K Chaudhary, a member of the parliamentary panel, emphasized the necessity of discussing the crash to ensure airlines' vigilance. Meanwhile, India's aviation watchdog has flagged compliance issues at Air India, noting repeated safety violations and overdue aircraft checks.
