India and South Korea Fortify Strategic Partnership

India and South Korea have agreed to boost their strategic partnership with increased cooperation in semiconductors, clean energy, defence, and AI. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun discussed enhancing bilateral ties in trade, manufacturing, and maritime sectors amid growing global and regional challenges.

India and South Korea have pledged to enhance their strategic partnership by deepening cooperation across sectors such as semiconductors, clean energy, defence, and artificial intelligence. The resolve was made during discussions between India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his visiting South Korean counterpart, Cho Hyun.

The dialogue prominently featured ways to escalate overall bilateral collaboration, including trade, manufacturing, maritime, and people-to-people exchanges. Jaishankar emphasized the discussions on contemporary global developments and the Indo-Pacific region, appreciating the expanding convergences and engagements between the two nations on their Special Strategic Partnership's 10th anniversary.

Expressing gratitude for Seoul's condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack, Jaishankar acknowledged the support provided to an Indian parliamentary delegation post-Operation Sindoor. The continued elevation of India-South Korea ties, notably in trade and defence, signifies the strong bilateral relationship both countries are committed to nurturing.
