Hundreds of Air Canada employees have taken to picket lines at major airports across Canada, following a walkout by unionized flight attendants due to a contract dispute. This strike, which began just before 1 a.m. EDT on Saturday, has caused severe disruptions for travelers, with over 100,000 passengers affected.

Air Canada has suspended most of its 700 daily flights, impacting passengers across Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver. The Canadian Union of Public Employees, representing more than 10,000 flight attendants, confirms the work stoppage, marking the first such strike since 1985.

The ongoing dispute focuses on wages, with the union advocating for compensation for time spent on the ground.
