Japanese probiotic leader Yakult is setting its sights on India as a burgeoning market with immense potential, according to company officials.

Operating as a joint venture with Groupe Danone, Yakult aims to achieve annual double-digit growth in India's expanding middle-class sector until 2030. The company has enlisted Bollywood's Taapsee Pannu as its brand ambassador to help drive its expansion strategy.

Since entering the Indian market in 2008, Yakult has seen accelerated growth post-COVID-19. Introducing new flavors like mango and reduced-sugar variants has widened its consumer base across nearly 700 cities nationwide.
