With India's GDP growth at 7.8% and global organizations recognizing its economic potential, these reforms aim to achieve 'One Nation One Tax.'
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has proclaimed the significance of the latest Goods and Services Tax (GST) reform in shaping a developed India. Ahead of the roll-out of the revised GST rates, BJP spokesperson Guruprakash Paswan highlighted the reform's pivotal role in economic transformation.
Addressing the media, Paswan countered Opposition's economic concerns, citing endorsements from global agencies like the IMF and World Bank, which view India as an economic hotspot. Paswan noted that since the inception of GST in 2017, which replaced around 35 different taxes, the system has undergone significant reforms, including rate reductions.
Paswan outlined five critical benefits of the GST overhaul, including tax simplification, improved quality of life, realization of Antyodaya as envisioned by BJP ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, enhanced ease of business, and strengthened state-center partnerships.
