Explosion Disrupts Railway Services in Assam, Sparks Heightened Security
An IED explosion on a railway track in Kokrajhar disrupted services across Lower Assam and north Bengal. Thankfully, no casualties or derailments were reported. Authorities quickly repaired the track and resumed train operations by morning. Security measures have been increased as an investigation into the blast continues.

An improvised explosive device (IED) blast disrupted railway services in Lower Assam and parts of north Bengal early on Thursday, according to officials.
The incident occurred around five kilometers from Kokrajhar station towards Salakati after midnight, severely damaging a section of the track and halting several trains until morning.
Authorities have intensified security along the route and launched an investigation. Northeast Frontier Railway and law enforcement agencies are collaborating to ensure passenger safety and apprehend those responsible for the explosion.
