Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced positive signals for the anticipated trade agreement between India and the US at the Indo-US Economic Summit organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
The minister emphasized the need for a fair and balanced deal that safeguards India's farmers, fishermen, and small industries. After six negotiation rounds, both countries aim to significantly boost trade by 2030, despite current challenges arising from tariffs imposed by the US.
There are no concerns over the solidity of India-US relations, according to Goyal, underscoring an enduring partnership. He mentioned a multi-year LPG import deal, highlighting both nations' commitment to enhancing trade.
