Chhattisgarh is set to revamp its energy subsidy scheme, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai declared on Tuesday. At the state's legislative assembly, it was announced that the 'half electricity bill scheme' will now support up to 200 units of power consumption, doubling its existing benefit range.
This initiative, positioned within the broader discussion of the state's 25th anniversary, aims to provide relief to around 45 lakh domestic consumers. Additionally, the government is encouraging solar energy adoption through the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, offering attractive subsidies to residents opting for rooftop solar installation.
Beyond energy, Sai highlighted the state's swift development and recent industrial surge, marked by investment proposals reaching Rs 7.25 lakh crore.
