The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority in the Bahamas reported the pilot declared an emergency before the plane went silent. The coordinated efforts of the US Coast Guard and Bahamian agencies led to a swift search and rescue operation.
The downed Beechcraft 300 King Air turboprop plane prompted the US Coast Guard to deploy a C-27 aircraft for assistance. The rescued individuals were safely transported for medical evaluations, while the cause of the crash remains undetermined.
