Pidilite Speciality Chem commissions second unit in Bangladesh

Pidilite Speciality Chemicals Bangladesh, a subsidiary of adhesive maker Pidilite Industries on Thursday said it has commissioned its second manufacturing plant at Bhaluka in the neighboring country. Pidilite has earmarked over Bangladeshi Taka 550 million (approximately Rs 46.77 crore) as an investment towards the plant, without divulging the manufacturing capacity, the release said.

It expects the plant to further strengthen its position in the adhesive market in Bangladesh and enhance its market presence. The new plant will manufacture leading brands such as Fevicol SH, Fevicol Speedx, Fevicol Marine, Pigment Emulsion, Piditint, and White Emulsion for the local market.

This is the company's second plant in Bangladesh. Pidilite currently has operations in more than 70 countries with 8 facilities outside India, including the ones in Bangladesh.

"Bangladesh is an important market for Pidilite, over the last 15 years. Fevicol is a household name in Bangladesh and our new plant will help us strengthen our existing manufacturing capacity for the Fevicol adhesive range," Pidilite Industries managing director Bharat Puri said.
