The Telangana Assembly has passed a Bill to set up the Young India Skill University-Telangana, aiming to enhance skill development in the state. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy noted the institution's name draws inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi's journal 'Young India.'

Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said the university will operate on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. It aims to equip students to meet international standards in sectors such as BFSI, pharma, life sciences, artificial intelligence, retail, and e-commerce, with a permanent campus coming up in Mucharla.

Despite some controversy during the debate, both BRS and BJP members expressed their support for the bill. AIMIM suggested the measure be referred to a select committee for wider discussion.
