National Educational Technology Forum Chairman Encourages Graduates to Embrace Lifelong Learning

Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum, on Friday, urged young graduates to be constant learners and strive to improve their employability. Speaking at the 39th convocation of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Sahasrabudhe highlighted the importance of acquiring skills and developing the right attitude for career development.
'Jobs are plenty, and it's crucial to become multi-dimensional,' he stated. He advised graduates with backgrounds in mechanical or civil engineering to consider courses in Computer Science or the Internet of Things to boost their employability. He emphasized the necessity of having a vision and being prepared to seize opportunities, especially as the country moves toward becoming the third-largest economy. The New Education Policy, he added, supports a multi-disciplinary approach and multiple entries.
T R Parasuraman, Chairman of ASSOCHAM Karnataka state development council, echoed Sahasrabudhe's sentiments, stressing that hard work, attitude, knowledge, and skills are pivotal for personal development. VIT founder-chancellor G Viswanathan also spoke, focusing on the need for scholarships and increased funding for higher education and research to support the rural, poor, and middle-class students.
A total of 8,205 undergraduate and post-graduate students and 357 Ph.D. graduates received degrees at the ceremony. Gold medals were awarded to 65 outstanding candidates, marking a memorable end to the convocation.
