Amid escalating student suicides attributed to academic stress, a parliamentary committee is set to scrutinize the surge of coaching centers integral to competitive exam preparations and the resultant societal challenges.

The standing committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports aims to assess the influence of Artificial Intelligence on education, alongside the government's school initiatives, as revealed by the latest bulletin from the Lok Sabha.

During the current legislative year, the panel will also inspect ongoing educational policies, notably the establishment of the Higher Education Council of India to replace existing regulatory bodies, and delve into the functional efficacy of the National Council of Educational Research and Training.
