In a bid to enhance educational standards, government-run Jayaprakash Narayan Sarvodaya residential schools in Uttar Pradesh are poised for a major transformation. These schools, primarily serving students from economically weaker sections, will adopt best practices from the nation's leading private boarding schools.

The Social Welfare Department announced a planned memorandum of understanding with the Boarding Schools' Association of India (BSAI) to implement qualitative improvements. Currently, the department manages 125 Sarvodaya schools across the state, offering free quality education to marginalized communities.

Key discussions were held at The Doon School in Dehradun, attended by several top boarding school principals. The focus was on administrative excellence, student welfare, and holistic development. Under this initiative, Sarvodaya school educators will visit private boarding schools to learn and apply successful practices, ensuring consistent improvements across all institutions.
