West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose paid a heartfelt visit to relief camps housing victims of Kerala's devastating landslides in Wayanad district on Wednesday.
Sources from the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata confirmed that Governor Bose, originally from Kerala, took the initiative to personally interact with the individuals affected by the tragedy. He also inspected some of the severely impacted landslide sites in the district's hilly terrain.
In a swift response to the disaster, Governor Bose had an immediate discussion with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. As of Wednesday evening, the death toll had tragically reached 167, with 191 people still unaccounted for. Rescue teams are intensifying their search efforts to locate survivors beneath the rubble.
