Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday welcomed a Japanese delegation of Parliament members and business leaders to discuss the bolstering of bilateral ties in both traditional manufacturing and newer industries such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, and green energy.
The delegation, led by House of Representatives Speaker Nukaga Fukushiro, engaged in talks centered around deepening the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, focusing on parliamentary exchanges, investments, and skill development.
Key topics included the advancement of a 5 trillion yen investment target between 2022-27 and plans for future collaboration. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project and workforce training initiatives were underscored as pivotal elements in the evolving relationship.
