PM Modi to Distribute Certificates to Women Beneficiaries of 'Lakhpati Didi' Scheme in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute certificates to 11 lakh women benefitting from the 'Lakhpati Didi' scheme in Maharashtra's Jalgaon on August 25. Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced this while addressing women Self-Help Group (SHG) members. The 'Lakhpati Didi' and 'Namo Drone Didi' schemes aim for economic empowerment and financial autonomy for women in rural areas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to distribute certificates to 11 lakh women beneficiaries of the 'Lakhpati Didi' scheme in Maharashtra's Jalgaon on August 25. The announcement came from Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday.

The minister made the announcement during an event addressed to women Self-Help Group (SHG) members who benefitted from the 'Lakhpati Didi' and 'Namo Drone Didi' schemes. These schemes provide subsidies for drone purchases and aim to ensure that each SHG member earns an annual income of Rs 1 lakh or more.

Highlighting the government's target of reaching three crore 'Lakhpati Didis', Chouhan explained that some certificates would be handed over in Jalgaon while others would be distributed in villages. He emphasized the changing perspective towards women, noting that 'Lakhpati Didis' share their success stories globally. The initiatives are crucial for fostering economic empowerment in rural areas.
