Ayan Mukerji's directorial venture 'Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva' triumphed at the 70th National Film Awards, winning accolades in several categories.
The film bagged the award for Best Male Playback Singer, which went to Arijit Singh for the track 'Kesariya.' Additionally, it secured the title of Best Film in AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics), and Pritam clinched the award for Best Music Director (Songs).
Director Ayan Mukerji shared his elation and gratitude over the film's achievements, stating, "It's a special day for us. I am deeply grateful for the recognition Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva has received at the National Awards." He further praised the contributions of Pritam, lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya, and singer Arijit Singh.
'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva' is the initial installment of a planned trilogy set in the Astraverse. The film features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The storyline revolves around a DJ named Shiva who discovers his unique connection with fire and his potential to wield the Brahmastra, a supernatural weapon capable of immense destruction.
The 70th National Film Awards, announced in the national capital, were judged by a jury of prominent filmmakers and cinema experts, including Rahul Rawail, Nila Madhab Panda, and Gangadhar Mudaliar. The awards were revealed in the presence of Vrunda Desai, Joint Secretary (Films), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
