Comprehensive Mock Drill Enhances Security for Amarnath Yatra

In a bid to ensure the utmost preparedness for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, police conducted an extensive mock drill at the high-security Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu. This initiative aimed at bolstering safety protocols and preparedness for the annual pilgrimage.
The 38-day pilgrimage, leading to the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine in south Kashmir, is scheduled to commence on July 3, utilizing the 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam track and the steeper 14-km Baltal route. The initial batch of pilgrims is set to depart from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp on July 2.
The elaborate exercise saw participation from multiple agencies, including the Special Operations Group, CRPF, State Disaster Response Force, Fire and Emergency Services, and health authorities, ensuring a coordinated response to potential emergencies. The police have reiterated their commitment to a safe and seamless Yatra experience for all participants.
