Korean actor Song Young-Kyu, renowned for his prominent role in 'Extreme Job', has tragically passed away at the age of 55. His body was discovered unresponsive in a parked car in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, located south of Seoul, at approximately 8 a.m. local time on Monday, according to Variety.

Since debuting in 1994 with the children's musical 'Wizard Mureul', Song built a substantial career over three decades, covering theater, television, and film. He gained fame through supporting roles in productions such as 'Trick,' 'Stove League,' and 'Hyena.' His part in 'Extreme Job', one of the most successful films in Korean cinema, solidified his reputation as a versatile actor, appreciated for his dry humor and realistic portrayals.

Earlier this year, Song was embroiled in a DUI incident in Yongin, allegedly driving five kilometers with a blood alcohol level warranting license revocation under South Korean law. He was subsequently referred to prosecution without detention. Following this incident, he resigned from his role in the stage production 'Shakespeare in Love', and his parts in the dramas 'The Defects' and 'The Winning Try' were altered. Song Young-Kyu is survived by his wife and two daughters.
