Prasoon Joshi to Receive Prestigious Kishore Kumar Samman

Prasoon Joshi has been chosen for the prestigious Kishore Kumar Samman by the Madhya Pradesh government for 2024. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to songwriting. Presented in Kishore Kumar's birthplace, Khandwa, the award ceremony will include performances by local singers and a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh.

Renowned lyricist Prasoon Joshi is set to receive the Madhya Pradesh government's esteemed Kishore Kumar Samman in 2024 for his exceptional contributions to songwriting, an official announcement confirmed recently.

The award ceremony will take place on October 14 in Khandwa, the birthplace of legendary artist Kishore Kumar, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav presenting the award alongside a two-day celebration of music.

Since its inception in 1997, the Kishore Kumar Samman has honored many notable figures in the arts, including Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Naseeruddin Shah, and Gulzar, offering a prestigious platform accompanied by a Rs 5 lakh cash prize and citation.
