The Crime Literature Festival of India (CLFI) commenced its third edition with a curtain raiser event on Saturday, where senior police officers, legal experts, authors, and media personalities convened to discuss matters surrounding gender justice, policing, and societal transformation.
The event, orchestrated by the Doon Cultural and Literary Society at the India International Centre, set the stage for the main festival scheduled from December 12 to 14 at the Hyatt Centric, Dehradun. The curtain raiser included sessions focused on topics like women in policing and the ongoing debate regarding fair justice for men.
Delhi's Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Devesh Srivastava highlighted the necessity for law enforcement to catch up with societal changes, pointing out the importance of empathy alongside enforcement. He emphasized the significance of platforms like the CLFI in enabling crucial dialogues for a fair and informed society.
