In a significant shift from tradition, President Donald Trump hosted the 2025 Kennedy Centre Honours ceremony on Saturday, presenting medals to notable artists, including Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, George Strait, and Kiss. Trump, who was deeply involved in their selection, hailed the honourees as the 'most accomplished and renowned class' ever assembled.

Breaking from previous presidential tradition, Trump relocated the medal ceremony to the Oval Office. Each honouree received a newly designed medallion by Tiffany & Co. The president also restructured the Kennedy Centre's board, appointing GOP allies, and planned further changes to its programming and physical appearance.

Trump announced that he would host the Kennedy Centre Honours show, predicting its highest ratings yet. This marks the first time a sitting president will host the event, adding to the changes initiated since taking office. The honourees will be celebrated in a glitzy performance event, set to air on CBS and Paramount+.
