Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lead a significant debate on Monday in the Lok Sabha to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song, Vande Mataram. The occasion promises to shed light on several lesser-known aspects of the song, inviting contributions from key political figures.
The debate is part of a year-long celebration launched by Modi to emphasize the historical importance of Vande Mataram. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress deputy leader Gaurav Gogoi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are among the notable participants expected to speak.
In addition to the parliamentary focus on Vande Mataram, discussions on election reforms will also take place, addressing contentious issues such as the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, which previously caused disruptions in parliament sessions.
