In a tragic incident, two Indian nationals, Anvesh Sarapelli and Sahaja Reddy Udumala, have succumbed to injuries sustained in a devastating house fire in Albany, New York, the US authorities and the Indian mission confirmed.
Anvesh Sarapelli passed away on Saturday, a day after Udumala, highlighting the extensive damage caused by the fire. Both were treated at Albany Medical Centre Hospital before being transferred to Westchester Medical Burn Centre, where they eventually died.
The Consulate General of India in New York expressed deep condolences and is providing assistance to their families. Concurrently, a 'GoFundMe' campaign initiated by Udumala's cousin, Rathna Gopu, aims to support funeral and repatriation costs for the victims.
