The International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) gears up for its 30th edition, kicking off with a significant nod to Palestinian cinema. The festival will open with 'Palestine 36,' an epic drama by Annemarie Jacir that chronicles the Palestinian revolt against British colonization and Zionism.

This year's festival highlights include honoring globally acclaimed Malian filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Celebrated for his impactful storytelling on themes like globalization and identity, Sissako's works such as 'Timbuktu' and 'Life on Earth' will grace the festival screens.

Running from December 12 to 19 in Kerala's state capital, the festival promises a diverse array of international cinema, reinforcing its status as a significant cultural event. The IFFK continues its tradition of celebrating filmmakers who've left an indelible mark on world cinema.
