Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently remarked on the international significance of Pongal, attributing it to the universal appeal of Tamil culture. Speaking at an event hosted by Union Minister L Murugan, Modi expressed that Pongal has grown beyond a mere festivity, demonstrating the shared cultural heritage of India, particularly in celebration of farmers and agriculture.
