On Saturday, the traditional Bagurumba dance of the Bodo community will be showcased in a grand event featuring over 10,000 artistes. Hosted at Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Stadium in Assam, this spectacle will also see the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his official two-day visit.

Prime Minister Modi, stressing on preserving Bodo culture, stated that the central government, along with the Assam state administration, is actively working towards fulfilling the community's aspirations, a vision championed by the revered Bodo leader, Bodofa Upendranath Brahma.

Titled 'Bagurumba Dwhou 2026', the performance includes 8,000 dancers from 81 constituencies. The event is meticulously organized with a capacity for 20,000 attendees and will be observed across LED screens to ensure wider participation. Bagurumba, a folk dance, celebrates peace, joy, and nature's harmony, central to Bodo festivals like Bwisagu.
