The allure of Mysuru silk leads women to crowd the KSIC showroom as early as 4 am, hours before it opens at 10 am. These saris, priced from Rs 25,000 to over Rs 3 lakh, are sought not only for their cost but more for their revered quality and rich heritage.
KSIC's Mysuru silk, which boasts a Geographical Indication tag for guaranteed purity, is authenticated by unique codes and holograms. According to KSIC, their zari fabrics use only high-quality natural silk and pure gold zari, ensuring lasting brilliance that resists tarnishing over time.
Limited stocks lead to high demand, with only one sari allowed per customer. Over the weekend, 50 to 60 saris are stocked but quickly sell out by the following Monday. This scarcity, captured on social media, underlines the tradition and cultural significance that make these saris coveted by women in Bengaluru.
