In an event marking cultural significance, a rare Sanskrit manuscript of Valmiki's Ramayana, dated back 233 years, has been presented to the Ram Katha Museum in Ayodhya, the Culture Ministry has announced.

The handover witnessed Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice Chancellor of the Central Sanskrit University, formally presenting the manuscript to Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Prime Minister's Museum and Library.

Authored by Adi Kavi Valmiki with commentary by Maheshvara Tirtha, the manuscript, now permanently housed in Ayodhya, underscores the city's role as a center for Ramayana study and appreciation.
