In a significant move, HCL Foundation announced the winners of the 11th annual HCLTech Grant, distributing a massive Rs 24 crore among 12 non-governmental organizations focused on water, biodiversity, healthcare, and education.
Gramin Vikas Vigyan Samiti from Rajasthan secured the first-ever water category grant for enhancing water harvesting in the Thar desert's Barmer district. Meanwhile, Live Foundation of Jharkhand won the biodiversity award for its work on forest conservation in 50 villages across West Singhbhum district.
Goodwill Foundation of Mizoram was recognized in the health category for its initiatives to expand rural healthcare in Mamit district. In education, Mahila Jan Adhikar Samiti of Rajasthan received the award for fostering gender equality through holistic education in Ajmer district. This edition marked an increased total grant outlay, as four organizations were each granted Rs 5 crore, and it brought attention to water as a standalone category for the first time.
