The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a packet of suspected heroin in Punjab's Amritsar on Friday. The drug packet weighing 400 Grams was recovered from a farming field in Roranwala Kalan village of Amritsar district.

"On 24th May 2024, based on information by BSF intelligence wing regarding presence of narcotics consignment in border area of district Amritsar, BSF troops promptly launched an extensive search operation in the suspected area," Punjab Frontier Border Security Force said in a release. "During the search, at about 02:00 pm, BSF troops successfully recovered 01 packet (Gross weight- 400 Grams) of suspected heroin from a farming field of Village- Roranwala Kalan of District Amritsar. The narcotics were wrapped with yellow coloured adhesive tape and 01 steel ring was found attached with the packet," it said.

"Reliable input of BSF intelligence wing and timely action of diligent BSF troops foiled yet another illicit attempt of drugs smuggling from across the border," it added. (ANI)
